“I’ve always been interested in digging into DEVONthink but have hesitated because of the learning curve. But now that David’s released this field guide… that hesitation is gone. Every field guide that I’ve gone through has allowed me to make monumental progress. The DEVONthink Field Guide is another shining example of this.”
— Mike Vardy, Productivityist
"I wish I’d had this MacSparky Field Guide when I first started using DT 8 months ago; it would have saved me hours of reading manuals, watching videos, and reading blog posts to try to figure out how to use DevonThink. In his typical thorough and logical manner, David takes you by the hand and leads you step-by-step through everything you need to know to get the most out of DevonThink. Excellent, and a steal for the value!"
— Jim E.
"I’ve been a heavy DEVONThink user since the 2.x days. I’ve helped colleagues and friends get up and going with their databases. However, I was astounded by the number of features I didn’t know were in DEVONThink until I watched David Sparks do his magic. This course has something for everyone who is interested in helping their data work for them. As an instructional designer, I appreciate David’s approach to carefully guide his learners, regardless of expertise, to master this remarkable program."
— Lee D.
"I bought DEVONthink years ago, knowing I wanted to use it, though I found it challenging to learn, so I never managed it well. Once I heard Sparky was working on a Field Guide for it, I knew I would not only buy the course immediately, but that I'd finally understand what I long wanted to know. Jumping into the course, I'm getting exactly what I need to build, organize, and leverage my system with way more efficiency than ever before."
— Jeff G.
"I went through your DEVONthink Field Guide and it rocks!"
— Erik P.
"As a DEVONThink user for over 10 years and having built a personal database containing over 30,000 items, I would consider myself a reasonably sophisticated user of the app. However, buying David Sparks’ Field Guide was like being given an intricately detailed map and a high-beam flashlight to take with me on the journey into the wilderness that DEVONThink, with its overwhelming array of features, can sometimes be. I’ll mention just two killer features that David unearthed for me (worth the price of the Guide alone): 1) DEVONThink Workspaces (the ability to customize views) and 2) Smart Rules, which opens up a world of opportunity to deploy DEVONthink’s automation powers to the fullest. All DEVONThink users owe it to themselves to get David’s Field Guide and take things to the next level."
— Tom M.
"Before watching the DEVONthink Field Guide by David Sparks, I had files, notes, emails, website captures, screenshots stored in various locations with no way to find them again. I had purchased Devonthink over a year ago but just got overwhelmed with trying to get everything in it. David walks you though every step on how to capture, sort and set up databases and groups. I’m only halfway through the field guide and can’t believe how organized my files are and the confidence I have I can find what I need when I need it. Thank you David, you are an amazing teacher!"
— Debra B.
"I started using DEVONthink 2 feeling it had great potential but even after upgrading to DT3 I was still using it as a searchable mail archive. In an attempt to realize the potential of the application, I bought the MacSparky field guide. At last I understood the difference between indexing and copying docs into the application, saw the benefits of separate databases and most importantly got to understand smart groups and smart rules. This field guide has transformed and amplified my use of the application and it explains everything in such a simple manner. My best purchase this year!"
— Martin D.
"A few years ago I decided to go paperless and I have been using DEVONthink as my repository for scanned documents. The MacSparky course on DEVONthink has opened my eyes to the many features of the app that I have not been using. As a result I have now moved all my art resources (a large number of articles, scans and other notes) into the program. The search and linking features, which I discovered in the MacSparky course, make this a superb resource!"
— Peter D.
