I find that the best way to learn automation is to build one to solve a specific problem that there's something you want to automate in your Mac, and you figure out how to automate that, you learn a lot about automation. But before you can get to that point, you need to understand certain key concepts. And that's what we're going to cover in this section. We're going to talk about what actions are and how you can control apps on your Mac with Shortcut and actions. We're also going to cover the basics of variables because they're just so critical to anything you do with Shortcuts.
