If you're familiar with my work, you know I love automation and Obsidian has got some great built-in automation already. I talked about it in the sections on templates and some of the other cool features in Obsidian, both with the core plugins and the community plugins.
But I want to look deeper into automation and using third-party applications to automate Obsidian is actually pretty easy. The reason is because Obsidian is a folder full of markdown files. So any automation tool that can address individual files or text files is going to be useful with Obsidian.
In this section I go through some of my favorite third-party tools to further automate Obsidian.
